Tunica albuginea
The ovaries in human females have two main components: the lining germinal epithelium and the inner ovarian stroma. The germinal epithelium gives rise to the precursors of the female gametes or eggs. The ovarian stroma in turn is divided into two primary portions: the outer cortex, and the inner medulla. Tunica albuginea is the inner layer in the testis.
