There are two types of acids depending upon their molecular composition:
1. Oxyacids- Acids containing oxygen atoms. The replaceable hydrogen(s) are bonded with oxygen atoms. e.g. sulphuric acid, nitric acid, etc.
2. Hydra acids- Acids that do not contain any oxygen atoms. The replaceable hydrogen(s) are bonded with halogens or pseudohalogens. e.g. hydrochloric acid, hydrobromic acid, etc.
