Solution

All plants carry out respiration throughout the day and night and thus the plants give out carbon dioxide during the day as well night. The process of photosynthesis produces oxygen that occurs in the day not in the night due to the sunlight. Since there is no sunlight in the night the plants only respire in that time and produce carbon dioxide.
So, during the daytime plants give out both oxygen and carbon dioxide and at night plants will give out only carbon dioxide.
