For a quadrilateral to be rectangle, its opposite sides should be parallel and equal and all the angles should be 90.

All these properties are also followed be squares as can be seen in below figure,Therefore, all squares are rectangles.

Now, for a quadrilateral to be a square, all sides should be equal and all angles should be equal.

But as we know, in rectangles all angles are equal but all sides are not equal as can be seen in below figure,

Therefore, all rectangles are not squares.
