Proteins can be simple (made up of peptide chains only) or conjugate (having additional non peptide groups). Conjugate proteins include nucleoproteins (with DNA, RNA), chromoproteins (flavoproteins with FMN, FAD, haemoglobin and cytochromes with iron, cytochrome oxidase with copper), metalloproteins (ferritin having iron), lipoproteins (with lipid like lipovitellin of egg yolk, HDL, LDL), phosphoproteins (phosphate as in casein), glycoprotein, mucoprotein etc.
