Period of occurrence
Based on the period of occurrence of allergy, it can be classified into seasonal and perennial. When the allergy occurs for a particular time of the year, it is called seasonal allergy. Example: Hay fever. Allergies that are not linked to any particular season and can occur at any point of time of the year are called perennial allergies. Examples: Allergy to dust, insect bites, allergy to food substances etc.
