Along the path of vas deferens the secretions of which gland provides nutrition to the sperm

Dear Student, When sperm moves from vas deferens towards ejaculatory duct, then prostate gland secretes an alkaline fluid that provide nutrition to sperm. Its secretion consist of proteolytic enzymes, fibrinolysins, Phosphatase enzyme, Zinc and Prostate Specific Antigen( PSA). It is a walnut shaped gland with a weight of approximately 11gram. It is the most common gland that undergoes hyepertrophy in elderly males (Known as benign prostate hypertrophy or BPH). Regards
