The correct option is C a=2,b=32
Let α=x
β=x×r
γ=x×r2
δ=x×r3

As sum of roots is ba and product of roots is ca in ax2+bx+c

So α+β=3

x+xr=3

x(1+r)=3 (1)

Similarly xr2+xr3=12

xr2(1+r)=12 (2)

Dividing (2) by (1)

r2=4

r=2 or r=2

Taking r=2 and substituting in (1)

x(1+2)=3

x=1

So,

α=1

β=2
γ=4

δ=8

So a=1×2 and b=4×8

Hence a=2 and b=32

So option (C) is correct answer.
