Question

Aman invests Rs.29929 in shares of par value Rs.26 at 10% premium. The dividend is 15% per annum. Calculate : (i) the number of shares (ii) the dividend received by him annually (iii) the rate of interest he gets on his money.

i) Here per value=Rs26Premium=10%Let the number of shares be xMarket value of one share=Rs26+10%of Rs 26=Rs 1435A.T.Q1435x=29929x=29929×5143=1046ii)Dividend per share =15% of Rs 26=15100×26=Rs3.90Hence dividend on 1046 shares=1046×3.90=Rs 4079iii)On Rs 29929 his income is Rs 4079On Rs 100 his income is =407929929×100Hence his income is Rs 13.6%
