All three of them are thinking in the wrong way. Despite being normalised by society and cultural phenomenon, violence in any form is never justified. Domestic violence is a criminal offence and this law was introduced to safeguard the victims affected by it.

As per the Beijing Declaration, 1995, violence is a major cause of decreasing status of women, as compared to men. Most of the times, when women and girls face violence in the family, these incidents remain within the four walls of the house. This is a major reason why the cases of domestic violence are difficult to identify and address. It is the government's responsibility to identify violence, protect the victim and punish the culprits. The victims of domestic violence should have access to legal and judicial systems. The awareness related to laws and protective measures should be imparted to everyone.
