Amazon lies in tropical region of the world then why only shade resistance vegetation like orchids and boremeliads may grow here?

Dear student The Amazon basin is the largest river basin in the world. As it rains heavily in this region, thick forests grow here and the ‘dense roof’ created by leaves and branches of trees does not allow sunlight to reach the ground here. Hence, the ground remains always dark and damp and as a result, only shade tolerant vegetation like orchids, bromeliads grow as plant parasites. Regards
