Solution

The correct option is C No loss
Total components =1000

If 15% fails, then remaining components to be sold =100015% of 1000=850

Selling price of a component =100 Rs.

Total Selling Price=100×850=85000 Rs

Since, after selling 850 components, Amit makes a profit of 70%

We know that SP=CP+Profit

85000=CP+70% of CP

85000=17×CP10

CP=85000×1017=50000 Rs

Now, when 50% components rejected, then number of components to be sold =100050% of 1000=500

Total Selling Price(SP)=500×100=50000 Rs

Loss=CPSP=5000050000=0 Rs

No Loss
