Solution

The correct option is D 37%
Given
The marked price of item = ₹ 2000.
Percentage of first discount = 30%

First discount = 30100×2000
First discount = ₹ 600

Price after first discount = ₹ (2000 - 600)
Price after first discount = ₹ 1400

Percentage of second discount = 10%

Second discount = 10100×1400
Second discount = ₹ 140

Price after second discount = ₹ (1400 - 140)
Price after second discount = ₹ 1260

So,
Net discount given = ₹ (2000 - 1260)
Net discount given = ₹ 740

Now,
Discount percent = Marked priceSelling priceMarked price×100
Discount percent = 200012602000×100=37%
