Amoeba undergoes binary fission. In this process, the parent amoeba splits into two daughter amoeba in stage 1. The process continues with the two daughter amoeba splitting into two each in stage 2 to give rise to four amoeba in this stage. What will be the number of amoeba present after the completion of stagen?

In the stage 1, the number of Amoeba = 1×2=2

In the stage 2, the number of Amoeba = 2×2=4

In the stage 3, the number of Amoeba = 3×2=6

In the same way, in the stage n, the number of Amoeba = n×2=2n

Hence, the number of amoeba present after the completion of stage n is 2n.
