Solution

The correct option is B 56
To find the rational number between
12 and 89, we need find the LCM of the denominators.
So, LCM of 2 and 9 =18
Now, convert both the rational numbers into their equivalent rational numbers having the common denominator 18.
12 = 1 × 92 × 9 = 918
Similarly, 89 = 8 × 29 × 2 = 1618
So, the given rational number should be between 918 and 1618.

Now, when we covert 56 to equivalent rational number with the denominator 18, we get
56 = 5 × 36 × 3 = 1518, which is between 918 and 1618.
So, 56 lies between 12 and 89.
