The sequence shows the oil used everyday is:

50, 100, 150, 200, 250,...

Let us find the difference between the terms.

Difference = 100 - 50 = 50

Hence, the next term in the series is 250 + 50 = 300

The consecutive terms are 350, 400, 450.

On the 9th day, 450 oz of oil would have been used.

Remaining oil = 1000 - 450 = 550
