During evolution of life, first organisms were formed in water and gradually land living forms have evolved. Amphibians are considered the linking point between the aquatic and terrestrial life. The following points support it:
Amphibians unlike other oviparous land animals lay unshelled eggs, and that too in water not on land. Thus, they resemble fish in reproduction.
Amphibians​ like frog's egg hatches into tadpole which respires by gill like aquatic animals but it matures into an adult that respires by lungs as land animals.
