The correct option is
C protecting wildlife
The Government of India has instituted Amrita Devi Bishnoi Wildlife Protection Award for individuals or communities from rural areas that have shown extraordinary courage and dedication in protecting wildlife. Hence option c is correct.
In 1731, a Bishnoi woman by the name Amrita Devi showed exemplary courage by protecting trees from being cut. She sacrificed her life along with her three daughters and hundreds of Bishnois by hugging the trees to protect them from the axe of Jodhpur king's men.
The vision of women fired the spirit of environmentalists around the world. This movement spread rapidly across the Himalayan region in the 1970s. It spawned action in other places like Appiko Movement in Karnataka, Chilka Lake Agitation in Orissa, and Narmada Bachao Andolan.
The award is not given to individuals who are replanting the destroyed land areas which can be due to clearing of forest (deforestation), or jhum cultivation (process of cutting down the vegetation in a particular area, setting fire in that remaining foliage and clearing the area for growing crops).
Reforestation is restoration of the destroyed or damaged forest areas that happened due to natural disaster or human negligence.
Reforestation is necessary to improve the fertility of the soil and recover biodiversity. It is important to balance in the environment and ecosystem.
