  • Amylase helps in the digestion of foods.

Pancreatic lipase:

  • Lipase is made up in the pancreas, so it is also known as pancreatic lipase.
  • It helps in the digestion of fats.
  • It digests triglycerides into free fatty acids and glycerol.

Therefore, amylase breaks starch, while lipase breaks triglycerides.
