Primary earth-fault current at which the relay operates,

=100×1063×11×103×15100=787.29 A

The percentage of winding which remains unprotected is

P = 100 - 80 = 20%


The fault current =20100×11×1033Rn

Where Rn is the resistance in the neutral to ground connection

20100×11×1033Rn=787.29

Rn=20×11×103100×3×787.29=1.61 ohms
