Solution
The correct option is A TSH
TSH (Thyroid stimulating hormone) is secreted from anterior lobe of pituitary gland i.e. adenohypophysis. It stimulates the release of thyroid hormone from thyroid gland. When the level of thyroxine is high in blood, a negative feedback is exerted on hypothalamus and anterior pituitary due to which hypothalamus secretes less TSH and hence, less thyroxine is produced. When the level of thyroxine is less than normal, hypothalamus is stimulated to secrete more TSH releasing factors which results in more secretion of TSH from the anterior pituitary. TSH in turn, will stimulate thyroid to secrete more thyroxine hormone. Hence, in this way, TSH hormone is regulated by feedback mechanism.
