The correct option is C 2000 N
Force applied by the engine is 5000 N and drag force is 300 N. Because the forces are in opposite directions, the net force is equal to the difference between the magnitudes of the two forces. Hence, the net force is 5000 – 3000 = 2000 N. The net force acts in the direction of the larger force, i.e. 5000 N.
