An alloy consists of zinc and iron in the ratio 3:5. How much iron is there in 40kg of the alloy ?

The given ratio is 3:5.

Let ,the weight of zinc is 3x, and iron is 5x

The weight of the alloy is 40kg

Now, the weight of the alloy =the weight of zinc +the weight of iron.

40=3x+5x

x=408=5

The weight of iron =5x=5×5

=25kg

Hence, the weight of iron is 25kg.
