Let the marked price(M.P) be ₹ $x$ .

According to the given information:

Selling price $=$ M.P $-$ discount

Selling price $=$ M.P $- 5 %$ of M.P

$\Rightarrow 5225 = x - 5 %$ of $x$

$\Rightarrow 5225 = x - \frac{5}{100} \times x$

$\Rightarrow 5225 = x - 0.05 x$

$\Rightarrow 5225 = 0.95 x$
$\Rightarrow x = \frac{5225}{0.95}$
