An alternating voltageE=200sin(300t) volt is applied across a series combination of R=10Ω and inductance of 800 mH. Calculate the impedance of the circuit.

Given : L=800 mH R=10Ω
Alternating source voltage E=200 sin(300t)
Comparing with E=Eo sinwt
we get w=300
Inductive reactance XL=wL=300×800×103=240 Ω
Impedance of the circuit Z=R2+X2L
Z=102+2402=240.21Ω
