an aluminium atom loses 3 electrons to form an aluminium ion.an another atom like chlorine will absorb 1 unit negative charge. So what will be happened to the rest of 2 electrons? how many chlorine atoms will be required to completely absorb all the electrons losed by 1 aluminium atom?

3 Chlorine atoms will be required to absorb the 3 electrons lost by Aluminium atom. That is why the formula of aluminium chloride is AlCl3 which means one Al and 3 Cl atoms combine to form one molecule of aluminium chloride.
Al3+ + 3 Cl- → AlCl3
