Dear student

As we know that the when the sum of the two angles are equal to 180o they are called supplementary angles.

Now let assum that one of the angle be ao, the the other angle will be (a + 40)o.
Then: a + (a + 40°) = 180° 2a = 180 °- 40° 2a =140° a=70° So the so other angle will be (70° + 40°) = 110°
