All multicellular organisms develop from a single diploid cell called zygote. This cell then undergoes multiple divisions followed by differentiation to give rise to different kinds of tissue. Differentiation is where the dividing cells stop division, undergo structural modification in order to carry out a specific function. Since, all animal cells (cells that do not have a cell wall and are heterotrophic in nutrition) are eukaryotic i.e with an advanced nucleus begin life as a single cell, therefore an animal cell is a form of eukaryotic cell that makes up many tissues in animals
