Hunting and killing or an animal illegally is termed as poaching.
It harms environment because, the hunting may cause the decrease in the number of that particular animal and thus, affects the food chain of the environment.

Since humans are also the part of the food chain, indirectly some or the other way, the huans are also affected by it.
