An ant first travels from P to R on a right angled triangle PQR which is 13m long. Then it walks to point Q travelling 12m. Find the magnitude of displacement and distance travelled by the ant?
Displacement: 5m , Distance: 25m
Total Distance Travelled = PR + RQ = 13 + 12 = 25m
Initial position is P and final position is Q.
And as we know length between initial and final position is Displacement.
Total Displacement = PQ = √132−122 = 5m (using pythagoras theorem)
