Solution

The correct option is C X=CuSO4
Option (C) is correct.
(i) : Copper sulphate reacts with barium chloride to form white precipitate of barium sulphate.
CuSO4+BaCL2BaSO4(whiteppt)+CuCl2
White precipitate of BaSO4 is insoluble in dilute HCl.
(ii) : 2CuSO4+4KICu2I2(browncolor)+I2+2K2SO4
It turns white on addition of excess of hypo.
(iii) : Copper sulphate reacts with potassium ferrocyanide to obtain chocolate coloured precipitate of cupric ferrocyanide.
2CuSO4+K4[Fe(CN)6]Cu2[Fe(CN)6](chocolatecolouredprecipitate)+2K2SO4
