An architect drew a scaled down plan of a building. On the map, the dimensions of a room are written as 5cm × 4cm.

If the scale used by him is, 2cm = 10 m. What will be the equivalent ratio of the length and breadth of the actual room.

Given : 2 cm = 10m

1 cm is equivalent to 5 m.

Actual dimensions of the room = (5×5) m × (4×5) m = 25 m × 20 m [1 mark]

Equivalent Ratio between the length and the breadth of the actual room = 25 : 20 [1 mark]
