1. An irregular shape is a shape which has its sides unequal.
2. As the length. breadth of the object is irregular its area cannot be calculated using formula.
3. Approximate area of irregular shape can be calculated by using graph area.
4. Area is found out by plotting the the outline of irregular shape over a paper and counting the number of squares (full and half)
5. 1$\times$1 unit boxes are used for calculating surface area.
   

Thus for finding the area effectively of an irregular shape , graph paper is used.
