An electric bulb is connected to a cell through a switch as shown in figure. When the switch is brought to the ‘ON’ position, the bulb does not glow. What could be the possible reason/s for it?

When the switch is brought to the ‘ON’ position, the bulb does not glow. There could be the following reasons for it:
(i) Loose connections between terminals of cell, bulb or switch.
(ii) Connecting wires may be broken.
(iii) The cell may be a used one.
(iv) The bulb may be fused.
