Resistance of the wire is

R=ρLA

R=ρL81π .........................(1)

The copper cable is replaced by six insulated copper wires, hence length of
wires and ρ will be same as for cable.

Resistance of each of six insulated copper wires is

R=ρL9π .............................(2)


From (1) and (2)

RR=819

R=9×5=45Ω

Since wires are parallel to each other hence the equivalent resistance of combination will be
