Question

An electric circuit consists of four identical bulbs connected in parallel to a battery of 25 V. If one of the bulbs is fused and the electric current through each of the other bulbs is 2.3 A, what is the net electric current flowing in the circuit?

Solution

Given:
Four electric bulbs connected to a battery in parallel.
The electric current flowing through each one of the bulbs is 2.3 A.
In a parallel electric circuit, the sum of the electric currents flowing through each of the bulbs is equal to the net electric current.
2.3×4=9.2 A

But, it is also given that one of the bulbs is fused. So, it will not work. Only three bulbs need to be considered.
2.3×3=6.9 A
