Question

An electric current of 14Aflows through a conductor for 5s. Find the amount of charge that flows.

Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Given data

Electric current, I=14A

Time, T=5s

Charge, Q=?

Step 2: Formula used

I=Qt ………………………….(a)

Step 3: Calculation of the amount of charge flowing through the conductor

Substituting the given values in equation (a), we get

14A=Q5s

Q=14×5

Q=70C

Hence, the amount of charge flowing through the conductor is equal to 70C.
