Question

An electric current of 5 amperes flows through a conductor for 15 seconds. Find the amount of charge that flows.

Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Given data

Electric current, I=5A

Time, T=15s

Charge, Q=?

Step 2: Formula used

I=QT ……………………….(a)

Step 3: Calculation of charge flowing through the conductor

Substituting the given values in equation (a), we get

5A=Q15s

Q=5A×15s

Q=75C

Hence, the amount of charge flowing through the conductor is equal to 75C.
