An electric generator works on the principle of electromagnetic induction.It says that when a coil is rotated in a magnetic field, an emf(voltage) is induced in it.In generator the coil is placed between two poles of a magnet. When the coil rotates, an emf is induced in the coil due to which we get an electric cureent as output.
