Question

An electric heater is rated 1000W-200V. Calculate the current flowing through it.

Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Given data:

Power of electric heater =1000W

Voltage of electric heater =200V

Step 2: Calculation of resistance:

The relationship between power, voltage, and current can be given by the equation: P=VI

Where, P is the power, V is the voltage, I is the current

So, the value of the current will be:

I=PV=1000200=5Ampere

Hence, the value of the current of the system will be 5A.
