An electric heater of resistance 200Ω . At what rate will heat be produced in it, when current of 2.5A flow through it.

The Heat produced in the resistor is given as follow

H=I2×R×t

The heat rate will be

P=I2×R

By substituting the values in the above given formula we get

P=(2.5)2×200

Hence the heat produced will be1KW
