An electric iron is rated 1 kW and the voltage supplied is 240 V. What is the resistance of the heater? What is the rating of a suitable fuse for this equipment to safeguard it from overloading ?

The rating of the fuse depends on the current flowing $I = \frac{V}{R} = \frac{240}{1 * 10^{3}} = 0.024 A$
therefore it is suitable for $0.024 A$
