What is the cost of using the iron for the month of January 10 hours a day if 1kwh costs Rs 3.40 ?

Voltage, V = 240V,
Current, I = 4A,
Time, t = 31 x 10 hours = 310 hours.

Power, P = V x I
= 240 x 4
= 960 W

Electric energy consumed = Power x Time
= 960 x 310
= 297600 watt hours
= 297.6 kWh

Cost of using the heater for 310 hours = Rs. 297.6 x 3.40
= Rs. 1011.84
