From Joule's Law of heating:
Q=E2R1×6..................(1)
Q=E2R2×3....................(2)
Since heat supplied and applied voltage is same:
3R2=6R1
R1=2R2
When the coils are attached in series,
R=R1+R2
Q=E2(R1+R2)×t
Q=E23R2×t...............(3)
Again, heat supplied and applied voltage is same.
By comparing (2) and (3)
3=t3
