  2. Power is defined by the form, P=VI, where, V is the voltage and I is the current through the circuit.

Step 1: Given data

The power rating of the oven is, P=2kw.

The fuse rating of the circuit is, 5A.

Supplied voltage is, V = 220volt.

Step 2: Calculation of current

We know, power is, P=VI.

So,

I=PV=2kw220volt=2000w220voltorI=9.1A.

It is clear that the above current (9.1A) exceeds the fuse rating (5A) of the given circuit. So the fuse will be broken due to high current flow, through the circuit.
