The time period of revolution of an electron in an orbit is

Therefore, for the transition from n1 to n2 we get
T1n31 and T2n32
T1T2=n31n32
8=(n1n2)3
n1n2=2
Therefore only the values of n1 and n2 having ratio 2 are possible for transition.
