An electron is moving with an initial velocity ¯v=v0^i and is in a magnetic field ¯B=B0^j then its de Broglie wavelength
The magnetic force on moving electron is given as,
F=−e(v0→i×B0→j)
=−ev0B0→k
Since the force is perpendicular to →v and →B, so the magnitude of v will not change that’s means the momentum will remain constant.
De Broglie wavelength is given as,
λ=hmv
Thus, if the momentum will remain constant, then de Broglie wavelength will remain constant.
