Solution

a) Since the atomic number is given as 11, the number of protons will be also 11. The atomic number is the number of protons present inside the nucleus of an atom.

b)The mass number is given as 23.

The mass number is the sum of a number of protons and neutrons. Hence number of neutrons=mass number-number of protons=(23 -11)=12.

c)Number of electrons in a neutral atom will be equal to the number of protons. Hence, the number of electrons in X=11.
