  1. The valence electrons are defined as the number of electrons present in the last orbital of an element.
  2. The group number corresponds to the number of valence electron an element will have. If an element belongs to group IAor IIA it will have 1 or 2 electrons respectively.
  3. If it belongs to 13,14,15,16,17,18group it will 3,4,5,6,7,8 valence electrons.
  4. The element belongs to 17 group will have7 valence electrons.
