CT = 500/1

% relay setting = 100

Isec(CT)=IF×I2I1=5000×1500=10A

PSM=Isec(CT)Ipickup

=10relay setting×Irated(relay)

=101×1=10

Time of operation of relay, corresponds to PSM = 10 is 3 seconds (from characteristics table)

Time of operation of relay for TMS = 1 is 3 sec

Then time of operation of relay (for TMS = 0.4) is = Top

Top=3×TMS

Top=3×0.4=1.2sec
